Odam - Ammonia Reducer and Oxygen Enhancer

 What is ODAM ?

ODAM is an extract from the desert plant Yucca schidigera that binds  ammonia and hydrogen sulphide gases. It also contains enzymes,  beneficial bacteria (Bacillus subtilis) and dissolved oxygen enhancer.

 Ammonia toxicity:

Ammonia accumulation (especially unionised ammonia (NH3)) in  ponds leads to deterioration of water quality and can economic  losses to farmers. An increase in ammonia levels causes:

 Toxicity at higher pH.

Stress that can lead to mortality.

 Decreases in DO Level.

 A collapse in planktonic population.

Higher ammonia level in body fluid and tissues results in higher consumption of oxygen.

A collapse Drop in feed intake, reduced growth rate.

ODAM:
Mode of action Ammonia a product of nitrogenous waste directly enters the water from shrimp, fish and other organic material and uneaten food. The active ingredient - glycocomponent - in ODAM binds and moderates the supply of ammonia which bacteria incroporate into microbial protein while the enzymes and bacteria breaks down solid water matter. The oxygen enhancer in  ODAM helps in not only improving the oxygen level but also the activity of the aerobic bacteria.  This multiplex action therefore helps ODAM to removes ammonia levels faster and also enhance  the DO levels in fish and shrimp ponds.

 BENEFITS OF ODAM

Binds ammonia, prevents its accumulation and helps in assimilation of ammonia into microbial  protein.

Increases DO level and minimizes pH fluctuations.

 Enhance aerobic bacterial growth.

Reduces the Growth of filamentous algae.

Assists in overall performances in feed intake, Fcr, growth, survival and in yields.

 Dosage and Application
 Pond Application:

ODAM Powder - 300-500gms/ha/1m water depth.

ODAM Liquid - 200-300ml/ha/1m water depth.

Dissolve it in required quantity of water and boardcast  uniformly over pond surface area.

 Available forms

ODAM is available in two forms: ODAM Liquid - 50% yucca extract.

ODAM Powder - 30% yucca extract.
